The Winsdor to Troy Hiking Trail is one of the most formidable hikes in Western Jamaica

Built by the British Army during the Maroon Wars in the 1700s, this trail is one of the most interesting and formidable hikes in Western Jamaica. One of the only remaining routes traversing the Cockpit Country, its contours and embankments remain highly impressive in its seldom-used state.

Areas of Interest

The Cockpit Country is made up of several distinct communities, each of which offers a unique window onto Jamaican culture. Some of the main regions include, Accompong, Flagstaff, Windsor, Wait-A-Bit/Litchfield, and Sherwood Content. Many of these centers are located close to the Cockpit interior, while others can be reached via a 2-3 hour drive.
