
Appleton Estate Rum Tour on the outskirts of the Cockpit Country region
Over 250 years old, the legendary Appleton Estate in Nassau Valley is the oldest rum producer in the English-speaking Caribbean and one of the most popular tours in Jamaica. Here, one can see old rum production methods and sample several grades of Jamaica’s best-known rum while enjoying the historic grounds and lush valley setting.
The Cockpit Country is made up of several distinct communities, each of which offers a unique window onto Jamaican culture. Some of the main regions include, Accompong, Flagstaff, Windsor, Wait-A-Bit/Litchfield, and Sherwood Content. Many of these centers are located close to the Cockpit interior, while others can be reached via a 2-3 hour drive.
