Rose, born and raised in Flagstaff, Trelawny is a self-taught jeweler. She began her foray into art by designing clothes but the clothing market proved unsustainable. She is still inspired and fascinated by the Caribbean Fashionweek designers and gets further inspiration from various magazines. She utilizes mainly natural seeds and other materials found in and around the Cockpit Country such as John Crow beads, Joe’s Trees and Cacoon.

The Cockpit Country is made up of several distinct communities, each of which offers a unique window onto Jamaican culture. Some of the main regions include, Accompong, Flagstaff, Windsor, Wait-A-Bit/Litchfield, and Sherwood Content. Many of these centers are located close to the Cockpit interior, while others can be reached via a 2-3 hour drive.
